West Ham are planning a mammoth £30 million move for Watford ace Ismaila Sarr, according to a report from the Sun. And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
David Moyes is frantically searching for a new striker having sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax last week.
The Scot is now down to the bare bones at the London Stadium with Michail Antonio the only recognised senior striker at his disposal.
The Sun reckons that West Ham are looking to ease their attacking woes by signing Watford ace Ismaila Sarr for around £30 million.
Now, there are two huge problems here.
Firstly, Sarr, 22, is not an out and out centre-forward. The Senegal international can play through the middle but he is more of a winger.
Secondly, there is absolutely no way the Hammers will be paying £30 million for anyone this month. Unless the West Ham board have a huge surprise up their sleeves, it just won’t be happening.
Sarr has racked up 10 goals and 11 assists in 49 games for the Hornets (Transfermarkt).
The 22-year-old is a frightening talent with explosive pace. It just seems very unrealistic that we will be signing him this month.
