According to a report from the Telegraph, West Ham could renew their interest in Chelsea hitman Michy Batshuayi this summer, and some Hammers fans reacted angrily on Twitter to the links.

David Moyes will surely be looking to bring in another striker this summer.

Albian Ajeti has failed to impress since making his £8.5 million move from FC Basel last summer.

And Sebastien Haller clearly needs more support through the middle.

The Telegraph claims that Chelsea hitman Batshuayi could be a target for the West Ham boss.

It would be a strange move, however. The 29-capped Belgium international has struggled in England since making his £33 million move from Marseille in the summer of 2016 (Guardian).


Batshuayi has racked up just 25 goals and six assists in 77 games for the Blues (Transfermarkt).

At the same time, however, it could actually be argued that the 26-year-old hasn’t been given enough chances to prove his worth.

The Belgian is behind Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud in the centre-forward pecking order at Chelsea.

And there might just be a good reason for that.


Frank Lampard is allegedly ready to let Batshuayi leave this summer.
