Some West Ham United fans have begged David Moyes to sign Southampton striker Danny Ings this summer.

The Hammers boss incredibly chose not to sign a new striker in January.

That decision could clearly end up costing us dearly, with Michail Antonio’s hamstrings a real worry and Andriy Yarmolenko facing an extended period on the sidelines with knee ligament damage.

It will be a miracle if West Ham somehow manage to stay inside the top six this season.

Whatever happens though, we absolutely must bring an established centre-forward to the London Stadium in the summer as a matter of priority.

One option for the Hammers could be Southampton hitman Danny Ings.

The 28-year-old joined Southampton from Liverpool for £20 million in the summer of 2019 (BBC) having spent the previous season on loan at St Mary’s.

The hard-working striker has really impressed for Southampton, scoring 42 goals in 88 games so far (Transfermarkt).

ExWHUemployee claimed last week that West Ham could try to sign Ings in the summer, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Thursday February 4th).

He would surely be a brilliant addition for the Hammers.
