West Ham fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the news that Emmanuel Longelo could be sold to Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.
The Evening Standard claimed yesterday that Forest are keen to sign the Hammers youngster this month.
It is alleged that both a loan deal and a permanent one are on the table for the 21-year-old West Ham starlet.

Longelo has been absolutely brilliant for the Hammers under-23s so far this season. He has been one of the standout performers in fact.

The West Ham youngster has bagged three assists in 12 Premier League 2 games for the U-23s (Transfermarkt) – not bad numbers for a left-back!
Longelo is incredibly dynamic, is absolutely rapid and is a very solid defender. He’s pretty good going forward as well.
The 21-year-old showcased his talent for the senior side during our Europa League clash with Dinamo Zagreb back in December.
Longelo was arguably the best player on the pitch.
With Aaron Cresswell set to turn 33 before the end of this year and Arthur Masuaku being nowhere near good enough to play at left-back in the Premier League, it seems as though Manny has a fairly clear path to the first-team.
So when The Evening Standard claimed yesterday that the 21-year-old could be sold permanently to Nottingham Forest, the West Ham fan base were genuinely shocked.
Surely we won’t sell one of our up and coming stars? Surely we won’t…

Well we did last year when Grady Diangana was moved on to West Brom. In fairness, that one ended up working out well and perhaps David Sullivan will be thinking that history will repeat itself regarding Longelo.
West Ham fans react as Longelo is linked with permanent Nottingham Forest switch
The 21-year-old has impressed hugely for the Hammers’ youth teams and the senior side.
Considering our current weaknesses in the left-back department, moving him on permanently in the January window would be an absolutely crazy decision.
David Moyes needs to keep all of the current crop of youngsters coming through at the London Stadium around for the next few years. They could go on to achieve something genuinely special.
Some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the news that Longelo could be City Ground-bound in the January window…
