West Ham fans are loving links with Olivier Giroud

West Ham are eyeing a move to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in January according to a report from the Mirror. And some Hammers fans have have delivered their verdicts on the potential transfer on Twitter.

David Moyes undoubtedly needs to bolster his centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium in January.

Michail Antonio is currently out injured whilst Sebastien Haller continues to struggle.

Funds are tight in east London, so the West Ham boss will have to be thrifty in his player recruitment.

The Mirror claims that the Hammers are eyeing a move to sign Chelsea ace Olivier Giroud in January. And it would certainly make sense from a financial perspective.

The French World Cup winner is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Giroud could be available for just £4 million according to SI. That would represent decent value for West Ham considering our current financial problems.

The 34-year-old is a proven goalscorer with 218 goals in 533 career club games to his name.

Sure, he doesn’t fit into the age category David Moyes has repeatedly insisted he is targeting. With limited funds available, however, bringing Olivier Giroud to the London Stadium on a short-term deal would surely be a wise move from the Scot. It just makes sense.
