West Brom want to sign West Ham centre-back Issa Diop on loan according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (December 20th, page 65).

The centre-back hasn’t been himself for the past 12 months. So perhaps a loan move away from the London Stadium is just what he needs in order to reignite his career.
Some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation. And many of them aren’t convinced whatsoever…
The West Ham fans clearly don’t think there are any legs in the rumour linking Diop with West Brom.
It does seem rather far fetched.
The idea of loaning out the 23-year-old should not be dismissed so quickly, however.
Issa Diop will struggle to get back into the West Ham starting XI if Fabian Balbuena continues his impressive form.

An entire season with limited action could cause the Frenchman a lot of problems regarding his development.
The former Toulouse man, signed for £25 million in the summer of 2018 (The Express), has all of the ingredients needed to go on and become a truly top class centre-back.
He needs to be playing regularly, however. A loan move to West Brom may seem unrealistic. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t send him out elsewhere on a temporary basis, however.
