West Ham face an almost impossible task if we are to sign Jonathan David in the January transfer window with Liverpool thought to be chasing the Lille ace’s signature as well.
The Canadian hitman is allegedly keen to join West Ham (Calcio Mercato) and he would be a quite sensational addition for West Ham.
The fact that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to bring him to Anfield will seriously harm out chances of signing the electric young forward though.
David is one of the most exciting young players on the planet. The Hammers will have our work cut-out if we are to bring him to the London Stadium though.
Liverpool to deal West Ham a transfer window blow?
The Mirror reckons that the Reds are very keen to bring the Canada international to Anfield in January.
And according to New.In-24, Klopp is a huge fan of the fleet-footed 21-year-old. That may well end West Ham’s hopes of signing David.
That would be a real shame because he would be a truly outstanding addition to Moyes’s ranks.
Described by The Scouting App as a brilliant attacker with bundles of potential, the Lille ace has the kind of ability that would get the fans up off their seats.
He has already scored 18 goals in 24 games for his country and has bagged 16 goals in 27 matches for Lille so far this season (Transfermarkt).
The 21-year-old has a fine record of 66 goals and 20 assists in 158 career games for Lille and Gent combined (Transfermarkt).
David possesses blistering pace, has great movement and most importantly, he has a really high ceiling with which to better himself even further still.
The Canadian attacker will be available for around £30 million next month (The Liverpool Echo).
That seems like outstanding value for someone with so much potential and talent. If we’re being honest, David seems to be absolutely tailor made for Klopp’s setup at Liverpool.
Perhaps he was an unrealistic transfer target for West Ham from the start.
David Moyes absolutely must sign a top-class striker in the January transfer window. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though. Liverpool will be in the driving seat for Jonathan David. It was nice to dream for a while though…
