The Daily Mail claimed last week that the Hammers want to prise the 27-year-old blues ace away from Stamford Bridge.
West Ham boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his central defensive ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
And with Frank Lampard allegedly keen to sanction Antonio Rudiger’s exit (Daily Mail), the 31-capped Germany international seems to be the ideal addition for the Hammers.
But the east London outfit will now have to act fast if they want to sign the former Roma ace.
Nicolo Schira has claimed this morning that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has submitted a loan with an option to buy bid for the Chelsea ace:
Losing out on Rudiger to Spurs would be a big blow for West Ham.
With the German’s mobility, pace and tenacious tackling, he is exactly the kind of signing we need.
The Chelsea ace has proven his quality during his three year spell in England. And the Hammers must do everything they can to try and beat arch rivals Tottenham to his signature before the transfer window closes.
At least Spurs’s alleged official bid may force David Sullivan into action.
