West Ham could be set to miss out on Mikkel Damsgaard with Liverpool set to throw their hat in the ring for the young Dane’s signature according to La Razon.

The Hammers have been linked with a move to sign the 20-year-old Sampdoria ace for quite some time now (The Athletic and La Repubblica).

Damsgaard is a real talent. And despite the fact that West Ham don’t particularly need to sign another attacker at the moment, David Moyes should be doing everything he can to bring the Denmark international to the London Stadium this summer.

He really is that good.

The 20-year-old has lit up EURO 2020 with a succession of exceptional performances. He has recorded one goal and one assist for Denmark in three games so far at Europe’s showpiece international tournament.

West Ham face Liverpool competition for Damsgaard?

The Hammers have their work cut out off they are to sign the exceptionally talented Dane this summer.

La Razon claims that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring him to Anfield before the start of next season.

So Moyes will have to fight tooth and nail to bring him to East London, for obvious reasons.

There have been varying reports suggesting different transfer fees needed to prise him away from Sampdoria.

The Daily Star reckon that £15 million could be enough whilst other outlets including Gazzetta Sampdoriana suggest that it will be more like £25 million.

Football Critic suggest that the 20-year-old has ‘uncanny ability’ and his playing style has been compared to Napoli and Belgium star Dries Mertens.

Damsgaard is undoubtedly a superstar in the making.

He would be a superb addition to the West Ham squad and perfectly fits the profile of player David Moyes usually likes to sign.

If Liverpool go all out for the Dane, however, we will surely have not chance. And missing out on the 20-year-old would be a real shame.
