The Hammers have been linked with a move to sign the 31-year-old winger before.
But this time there is an update.
Now Atletico Madrid are demanding only £8.8 million for the 12-capped Spain international (La Razon).

David Moyes has a lot of pressing issues that need to be addressed at the London Stadium this summer.
The West Ham boss needs to sign a new centre-forward, a central midfielder and a top class centre-back.
The last thing we need at the moment is another winger. And that is why we need to stay well clear of the Atletico Madrid attacker.
West Ham should avoid Vitolo at all costs
The 31-year-old’s best years are already behind him.
David Moyes has repeatedly insisted that he wants to bring young, talented and hungry players to the London Stadium.

So a move to sign Vitolo quite simply wouldn’t make any sense whatsoever.
The winger was in distinctly average form last season. He has no goals and only one assist to his name in 15 appearances for Atletico Madrid (Transfermarkt).

West Ham have far more pressing issues this summer than signing another winger. And even if we did need another attacking wide player, Vitolo wouldn’t be the man for the job.
