West Ham face a big problem with Chelsea reportedly eyeing summer transfer for 'unplayable' 25-year-old

West Ham face a big problem with Chelsea joining the race to sign Leeds United star Raphinha in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from The Athletic who claim that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring the Leeds ace to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring Raphinha to the London Stadium this summer according to 90 Min.

The Brazilian attacker would be a sensational addition for West Ham but fighting off competition from Chelsea may well prove to be impossible, especially considering the west London outfit’s far superior financial muscle.

Both West Ham and Chelsea need to bolster their respective attacking ranks this summer.

And it appears as though Moyes and Tuchel could be set for a head-to-head battle for the same player this summer…

West Ham face battle with Chelsea for Raphinha summer transfer

The Athletic reckon that the Blues now want to sign the Leeds star as well.

And that will obviously represent a huge problem for the Hammers.

In all fairness, David Moyes bringing Raphinha to the London Stadium seemed unlikely as it was and now with Chelsea keen on signing him as well, it could be mission impossible for the East London outfit.

There are two main reasons why the Blues have a big advantage over the Hammers in the race to sign the 25-year-old Leeds star.

Firstly, the west London outfit have a far greater funds to play with than what we do.

Leeds will allegedly demand around €55 million (£48 million) for Raphinha this summer according to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.

And Secondly, Chelsea can offer Champions League football to the Brazilian ace – something that he will undoubtedly be after.

What an incredible signing the 25-year-old Leeds ace would be for either West Ham or Chelsea. He has been described as ‘unplayable’ by BBC football journalist Adam Pope and is a constant menace to opposing defenders.

The 25-year-old has racked up 17 goals and 12 assists in 67 games for the Whites and last season, he bagged 11 goals and three assists in 35 Premier League gams (Transfermarkt).

The Leeds ace possesses incredible technical ability, impressive pace and has an absolute wand of a left foot.

Unfortunately for West Ham though, it seems as though Chelsea are in a very strong position to win the summer transfer race for Raphinha.
