West Ham United are eyeing up a move to sign experienced full-back Djibril Sidibe on a free transfer this summer.

That’s according to a report from French media outlet BUT! who claim that the Hammers could battle Fulham for the 29-year-old free agent’s signature this summer.

West Ham have been linked with a move to sign the 18-capped capped France international many times before, most recently last summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes has been a busy man in the transfer market this summer.

The Scot has already signed Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes and Patrick Kelly. He has also turned Alphonse Areola’s loan deal into a permanent one.

Moyes’s work is far from finished though. The West Ham manager is still on the look-out for a top-class striker, another central midfielder, a winger and a left-back. According to the latest reports, he could be eyeing up a move to sign another right-back as well…

BUT! claims that the Hammers are keen to sign the 29-year-old free agent this summer.

Signing another right-back is surely well down on Moyes’s priority list this summer.

Sidibe can play at left-back as well though so perhaps he wouldn’t be a bad addition for the squad, especially on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old spent the 2019/20 season on loan in the Premier League with Everton.

The Frenchman racked up four assists in 25 Premier League games for Everton during his loan spell at Goodison Park. In those outings, he averaged 3.3 tackles, 1.6 interceptions, 1.3 clearances and 1.2 dribbles (Who Scored).

Sidibe proved his class during his spell at Goodison Park and clearly has the ability to cope with the robust nature of the Premier League.

The free agent certainly wouldn’t be a bad addition for the Hammers.

And if West Ham sign Djibril Sidibe on a free transfer this summer, we’ll be in a very strong position in the right-back department next season.
