West Ham face a big battle in January, with Arsenal allegedly ‘very interested’ in signing Eintracht Frankfurt ace Evan Ndicka.

That’s according to a report from Sport Mediaset who claim that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is really keen to bring the 23-year-old centre-back to the Emirates in January.

Hammers boss David Moyes is allegedly keen to bring Ndicka to the London Stadium for around £8 million in January.

It now seems as though Arsenal could represent a huge problem for us though.

Ndicka is a tremendous central defender. And his availability for a bargain fee in January is one that has obviously piqued the interest of West Ham and Arsenal…

West Ham face Arsenal competition for Evan Ndicka

Sport Mediaset claim that the Gunners are ‘very interested’ in signing the Frenchman in January.

And as a result, West Ham now have a real fight on our hands.

Signing Ndicka from Eintracht Frankfurt seems like an absolute no-brainer for both Moyes and Arteta.

The Frenchman is a truly elite defender, make no mistake about that.

In 32 Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, Ndicka bagged four goals and four assists. During those appearances, he averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 4.1 clearances per game (Who Scored).

The 23-year-old also won 3.8 aerial duels per match and recorded a completion rate of 83.3% from 56.9 attempted passes per game (Who Scored).

Ndicka is an absolute colossus. Standing at 6ft 4in tall, he is totally dominant in the air. The centre-back seems to be tailor made for Premier League football.

He has been described as an ‘integral’ player for Frankfurt this season by The Mastermind Site.

Football journalist Zach Lowy has described the centre-back as a ‘brilliant’ player.

I would absolutely love to see him at the London Stadium.

With Arsenal now chasing Evan Ndicka though, West Ham might be fighting a losing battle.
