West Ham United are allegedly still keen to sign Burnley centre-back James Tarkowski on a free transfer in the summer window.
That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk who claim that Burnley boss Sean Dyche is still in the dark as to whether the 29-year-old will sign a new deal at Turf Moor.

David Moyes has tried to sign Tarkowski on multiple occasion before according to the likes of 90min, The Evening Standard and Claret and Hugh.
Burnley were quite simply demanding too much money for the seasoned centre-half though – as much as £30 million according to The Daily Mail.

West Ham were right not to buckle. Paying that kind of fee for a player who’ll be 30 before the end of the year and was closing in on the end of his current contract with Burnley would have been madness.
And now it appears as though the Hammers could sign Tarkowski for a whole lot less than we were originally quoted…
West Ham eyeing Tarkowski free transfer
TEAMtalk reckon that Burnley are none the wiser regarding the 29-year-old’s future.
And the Hammers are keen to bring him to East London for absolutely nothing in the summer.
With Tarkowski closing in on free agency, he surely won’t sign a new deal at Turf Moor and the opportunity to join European chasing West Ham may well be too good to turn down for him.

We think that the Burnley ace would be a great addition for the Hammers in the summer transfer window.
He is strong in the air and is a real threat from set-pieces. The 29-year-old is a tenacious tackler and his playing style is somewhat of a throwback to days gone by.
talkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist recently described the Burnley star as a ‘brilliant defender’.
Tarkowski, a two-capped England international, would provide really strong competition for the likes of Kurt Zouma, Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna when the Italian returns from his ACL injury.
Signing Tarkowski on a free transfer seems like an absolute no-brainer for West Ham.
And if Moyes brings him to the London Stadium from Turf Moor for nothing, we will be more than happy.
