West Ham United are allegedly eyeing up a move to sign Chelsea target Ibrahim Sangare from PSV Eindhoven.

That’s according to a report from 90 min who claim that the Hammers have been scouting the 25-year-old PSV midfielder, after Chelsea tried to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea allegedly made contact to sign the powerful 24-year-old midfielder for £39 million on transfer deadline day in the summer.

He ended up staying at PSV though.

West Ham boss David Moyes is clearly desperate to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium with an upgrade on Tomas Soucek desperately needed, and Declan Rice’s future far from certain.

Meanwhile, the same can be said of Chelsea manager Graham Potter at Stamford Bridge, with a long-term replacement for N’Golo Kante required.

It seems as though the Ivory Coast international is hot property ahead of the January transfer window. And the Hammers and the Blues could be set to battle it out for the PSV ace’s signature…

West Ham eyeing Chelsea target Ibrahim Sangare

According to 90 min, West Ham have performed several scouting missions on the 24-year-old, and those in power at the London Stadium have been hugely impressed by what they’ve seen.

What a player the PSV Eindhoven ace is.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Sangare is an absolute unit of a man, and he possesses energy and athleticism in abundance.

He’s a defensive midfielder by trade, but has recently evolved into more of a box-to-box player.

The 24-year-old bagged four goals and two assists for PSV Eindhoven last season, and this term he’s racked up four goals and one assist in 13 games.

During 29 outings for PSV last term, Sangare averaged 3.3 tackles and 2.6 interceptions per game. He made 70 passes on average per match and recorded an impressive completion rate of 86.1% (Who Scored).

Well-renowned scouting website Breaking The Lines describe Sangare as a ‘powerhouse’ midfielder.

The Ivorian will undoubtedly be a huge hit in the Premier League, if he does indeed end up swapping Holland for England at some point.

And West Ham would be making a real statement if we beat Chelsea to the signing of Ibrahim Sangare either in January or next summer.
