The Hammers were recently linked with a move to sign the 25-year-old by Gazzetta dello Sport (Print edition, June 1st, page 14).

Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

More quality competition and cover is required for Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice.

West Ham could sign Morten Thorsby for bargain fee

Calciomercato reckon that the 25-year-old could be picked up for just €10 million (£8.6 million).

That sounds like great value for the Hammers.

Standing at 6ft 2in tall, the Norwegian is a real unit. He has energy and power in abundance. The Sampdoria ace has been described as a central midfield maestro by Football Talent Scout.

On the face of it, Thorsby seems to have all of the attributes David Moyes looks for in a potential new signing.

In 33 Serie A games this season, the 25-year-old racked up three goals and one assist. During those outings, the Norway international averaged 2.3 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.8 clearances and 1.2 dribbles per game. He made 29.2 passes per match on average and recorded a completion rate of 75% (Who Scored).

West Ham have already instructed intermediaries to evaluate Thorsby several times according to Gazzetta dello Sport (Print edition, June 1st, page 14).

And Calciomercato reckon £8.6 million could get the deal done for the Hammers.

We’d be more than happy with this signing.
