West Ham could now have a free run at signing Montpellier forward Stephy Mavididi in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from L’Equipe who claim that the 24-year-old attacker has told the French club that he wants to leave in the summer transfer window, with the Hammers tracking his situation.

Mavididi began his career at Arsenal before moving to Juventus back in 2018. The Derby-born attacker then left Turin to link up with Dijon on loan before making a permanent switch to Montpellier in the summer of 2020.
The young forward has been a real hit in France.

He bagged eight goals and three assists in 30 Ligue 1 outings for Montpellier last season (Transfermarkt).
Mavididi can play anywhere along the front-line, possesses real pace and has impressive movement.
So it’s easy to see why David Moyes might want to sign him this summer…
West Ham in for Stephy Mavididi
L’Equipe reckon that the Hammers could sign the 24-year-old ex-Arsenal ace this summer after he asked to leave Montpellier.
Montpellier value Mavididi at around £15 million according to The Daily Mail.
That seems like a decent fee for someone with the former Arsenal ace’s talent and potential.

It could be argued that West Ham need an out-and-out striker though. The addition of someone with a more proven track record of scoring goals would make more sense for the Hammers in the summer transfer window.
Having said that, for just £15 million, Mavididi would be a very smart addition to our front-line considering his versatility.
The English ace has proven during his spell in France that he can be a real menace for opposing defenders.
He certainly hasn’t reached his prime yet either.
And if West Ham manage to sign Stephy Mavididi from Montpellier for £15 million this summer, we believe that that would represent very good value indeed for the East London outfit.
