West Ham will be making a huge mistake by signing Everton defender Michael Keane for £15 million in the January transfer window.

It has been widely reported that the 29-year-old Everton centre-back could be West Ham bound this month.

The Sun recently reported that the Toffees are keen to move Keane on for around £15 million in the January transfer window.

David Moyes clearly needs to bolster his central defensive ranks at the London Stadium this winter.

Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson are 34 and 32 respectively, whilst the latter has been heavily linked with the exit door.

In addition to that, Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma seem to be persistently struggling with injuries.

The thing is, Michael Keane just isn’t the man to come in and improve us, I’m sure of that…

West Ham on the verge of January transfer window mistake

If the Hammers sign Michael Keane from Everton for £15 million in January, I would be absolutely gutted.

The 29-year-old is slow and cumbersome and really is very poor when in possession of the football.

He is strong in the air and the tackle but his skillset is limited to say the least.

There are plenty of other options out there for us, younger, better and cheaper ones at that.

Nikola Milenkovic can be signed for just £12 million (Firenze Viola), whilst Evan Ndicka could be picked up for a bargain £8 million fee (Calciomercato).

I would take either of those two centre-backs over the 29-year-old Everton man every single day of the week.

West Ham really don’t need to sign Michael Keane. Let’s not forget that Moyes has already added young Brazilian defender Luizao to his ranks this month.
