West Ham are eyeing up a move to sign Marseille attacker Bamba Dieng before the January window slams shut.
That’s according to a report from RMC Sport who claim that Marseille need to sell and are demanding around €10 million (£8 million) for the 21-year-old.
West Ham manager David Moyes desperately needs to bring a new striker to the London Stadium before the January transfer window closes.
Michail Antonio is the only centre-forward that Moyes has at his disposal and that clearly isn’t good enough for a club with aspirations of challenging for honours both domestically and on the continent.
The Hammers will not have any chance whatsoever of finishing inside the top six, let alone the top four, this season if Moyes fails to get a striker through the door before deadline day.
The East London outfit have already been linked with numerous strikers. There have probably been 50 forwards linked with a move to the London Stadium since Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax in 2021!
And it seems as though Moyes is ready to press ahead with one of those names…
West Ham eye £8 million swoop for Bamba Dieng
The 21-year-old Marseille ace is on the Hammers’ radar according to a report from RMC Sport. The Ligue 1 outfit are allegedly in desperate need of some cash and are ready to sell the fleet-footed forward for just £8 million.
That kind of fee surely won’t putt off West Ham.
Dieng is a really exciting young talent and has so much potential.
He has been described as the new Didier Drogba by Get Football News France.
The Senegalese forward has bagged four goals and one assist in 14 Ligue 1 games for Marseille so far this season (Transfermarkt)
Dieng possesses blistering pace, has fantastic movement and is a nightmare for opposing defenders. He is a pretty good finisher as well.
The forward scored for Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations last night:
The Marseille starlet is far form the finished article. There are a lot of improvements that he needs to make in his game. And some might say that there are no guarantees of him succeeding in the Premier League.
We believe that £8 million is a very fair price for the Hammers to pay though.
Dieng can play anywhere along the frontline and would provide strong cover and competition for all of the West Ham attackers.
Moyes bringing the Senegal international before the January transfer window closes for just £8 million would be good business.
