West Ham can sign a longstanding David Moyes target for just £10m in January and word is he could start in the World Cup final.

West Ham have been linked with France forward Marcus Thuram in every transfer window since Moyes’ return to London Stadium in 2020.

And is set to be one of the most sought after players in the January window with the player out of contract at Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer and refusing to sign a new deal.

Moyes has been linked with a move for Thuram for some time as previously reported by the likes of ExWHUemployee and just last month on FootballFanCast.

West Ham are in desperate need of another striker next month.

Moyes should have signed two forwards in the summer but only brought in £35m Gianluca Scamacca.

Michail Antonio turns 34 next season and Moyes is thus far struggling to get the best out of his new Italian striker.

As reported by Bild, Thuram can leave Borussia Mönchengladbach in the winter window for as little as €12m (£10m).

West Ham face competition from Inter Milan but the Italians are trying to wait until the summer to sign him on a free transfer.

Speaking on the Thuram situation, Gladbach Sporting Director Roland Virkus said: “We are prepared for everything, have an if-then scenario and can react at any time. Of course we already scouted, that’s quite normal in this business.”

Thuram has 10 goals in 15 games for Gladbach in the Bundesliga this season. His stunning form earned him a call up to the French national team for the World Cup where he has made himself key for France off the bench.

West Ham fans could get a good look at Thuram in today’s World Cup final.

According to L’Équipe France training session before the final saw alleged West Ham target Thuram tested as a striker instead of Olivier Giroud, in a set-up which reflected the way Les Bleus were playing at the end of their semi-final win over Morocco.

With illness sweeping through the France squad, the man Moyes has been tipped to sign could well get the chance to play in the biggest game on the planet.
