The West Ham United board are allegedly trying hard to convince David Moyes to sign Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma.

That’s according to a report from The Express who claim that the Hammers board are willing to sanction a big money move for the Dutchman whilst Moyes has his reservations.

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move to sign Danjuma over the past week and there have been more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie novel.

Just a few days ago it seemed as though the Hammers were closing in on the signing of the 25-year-old attacker after the player himself allegedly requested that Villarreal accept an offer for his services.

Its as even reported that the La Liga side had already lined up a replacement for Danjuma in the form of Almeria centre-forward Umar Sadiq (All Nigeria Soccer).

As the West Ham fans’ excitement began to build, we were all brought back down to earth with the news that Moyes wants to sign Jesse Lingard instead of Danjuma (The Express).

West Ham board trying to convince Moyes to make Danjuma signing

According to a report from The Express, the Hammers owners are willing to spend big on the Villarreal attacker, but first need to convince Moyes to sign off on the deal for the 25-year-old.

Danjuma is believed to have a release clause worth £40 million (Give Me Sport).

We think that the Dutchman would be an exceptional addition for West Ham and hopefully Moyes is persuaded to sign him by David Sullivan and David Gold.

He bagged 16 goals and four assists in 34 games for the La Liga side last season (Transfermarkt).

The 25-year-old can play anywhere across the front-line and already has experience of playing in the Premier League.

Danjuma has pace and power in abundance and made his name on the very biggest stage in the Champions League last season. He has been described as a ‘sensational’ player by Manchester Evening News.

The Dutch flyer would take the Hammers’ attacking play to a new level entirely if he does end up moving to the London Stadium.

Whether the West Ham board are able to convince David Moyes into pulling the trigger on a deal to sign Danjuma remains to be seen though.
