West Ham beating Tottenham to the signing of Ruslan Malinovskyi in January would be a major statement from the club.

A recent report form Calciomercato claimed that the Hammers are set to make a serious attempt to sign the 29-year-old Tottenham target in January.

Numerous reports have claimed that West Ham and Spurs are set to go head-to-head for the signing of the Ukraine international this winter.

Malinovskyi is incredibly gifted from a technical perspective and despite his advancing years, he is still a precious talent.

It seems as though his next stop could be England. But where?

West Ham hoping to beat Tottenham to Ruslan Malinovskyi signing

With David Moyes going all out to bring the Ukrainian to the London Stadium, it seems as though the attacking midfielder could be London Stadium bound.

And beating out bitter rivals Spurs to his signature would be a serious message of intent from the Hammers.

Atalanta are apparently keen to move him on for just £13 million in January, rather than wait until the summer before selling him (Calciomercato).

I think that Malinovskyi would be a very smart signing for either West Ham or Tottenham. It must be said though, at 29, he’s far from a player for the future.

Malinovskyi has bagged 30 goals and 28 assists in 142 games for Atalanta (Transfermarkt). A goal involvement every 2.4 games isn’t bad at all.

The 29-year-old possesses outstanding technical ability and is really good when in possession of the football.

He has plenty of energy and possesses the ability to beat a man. He has an absolute rocket of a shot in his arsenal as well.

A couple of years ago, Chelsea legend Claude Makelele was trying to push the Ukrainian ace towards a move to Stamford Bridge, according to The Daily Mail.

So he clearly has something special about him.

Breaking The Lines describe the left-footed Ukraine international as an ‘incredible’’ player.

He may be ageing, but his still has a superb work ethic, technical ability and all-round quality in abundance.

I would absolutely love to see the 29-year-old arrive at the London Stadium in the January transfer window, especially for just £13 million!

And West Ham beating Tottenham to his signature in the January window would be a major statement of intent from the club.
