Calcio Mercato reported a couple of days ago that the Hammers are keen to bring the 31-year-old Barca stopper to the London Stadium this summer.

David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look-out for a new goalkeeper with Lukasz Fabianski and Darren Randolph now 36 and 34 respectively.

The Poland and Republic of Ireland internationals are nowhere near the same players they once were either.

West Ham chasing Neto

Mundo Deportivo (Print edition, May 24th, page 9) claims that the Hammers are showing the strongest interest in signing the Brazilian.

It his also suggested that David Moyes would have to pay just €12 million (£10.5 million) for the 31-year-old goalkeeper.

Neto would be a decent, reasonably priced option for West Ham.

Neto is very good with his feet and has great distribution. He isn’t the most aerially commanding of goalkeepers, however.

And that will undoubtedly be something that David Moyes has to weigh up before bringing him to East London.

Better options out there for the Hammers?

Neto wouldn’t be a bad signing at all for West Ham.

It has to be said though, surely the East London club would be better served in moving to sign a youngster stopper. Someone like Sam Johnstone or Alphonse Areola would be our choice.

Having said that, the Barcelona stopper would still be a satisfactory signing for the Hammers.
