West Ham United are said to be plotting an exciting move to sign an elite young talent in the summer transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui has already been an incredibly busy man in the summer transfer window, but the West Ham manager a lot more work still to do.

The Spaniard has already brought in Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman, but needs another four or five signings at the very least, if he’s to oversee some genuine progress at the London Stadium.

Lopetegui is believed to want a minimum of six new signings this summer, and he’s said to be keen to wrap up the majority of his transfer business before our pre-season campaign begins.

Considering the fact that our first game is just four days away, that’s looking unlikely now.

As long as he brings a few more faces in before the Premier League campaign begins next month, we’ll be in good shape.

However, the latest West Ham transfer rumour coming from Fabrizio Romano doesn’t seem to make a great deal of sense as far as I’m concerned…

West Ham want Juventus star in the summer transfer window

Lopetegui is clearly intent on bolstering his ranks at the London Stadium significantly before the new season starts.

However, the latest transfer link is a rather bizarre one to say the least.

Fabrizio Romano spoke to GiveMeSport about the current situation of Juventus star Matias Soule.

The Italian journalist has provided an update on the chase for the talented young winger this summer.

So where could the Juve star end up?

“Another player they’ve (Palace) been tracking is Matias Soule but Juventus want €40million (£34million) for him,” said Romano.

“Also, West Ham United and Leicester City are interested, but €40million is a lot of money, so not that’s easy.”

The 21-year-old Argentinian is an elite talent, BUT…he’s a left-footed right winger.

Lopetegui already has Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and Luis Guilherme who can play in that role, so surely he should be prioritising a move to sign a right-footed left winger?

The addition of a striker, another centre-back, a defensive midfielder and two new full-backs should be ahead of bringing in another right winger in the pecking order as well.

Described by Goal as an incredible player, I have no doubts that the Juventus star will make a big name for himself in the game.

However, as good a player as Matias Soule undoubtedly is, I’m just not sure West Ham need to sign him in the summer transfer window.
