West Ham United are allegedly close to signing Jesse Lingard on a free transfer this summer.
That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail who claim that further talks have been held between West Ham and Lingard and a deal is now close to being done.

The 29-year-old has officially been released by Manchester United as a new chapter in his career awaits him.
Lingard spent an incredibly successful four months on loan with the Hammers during the second half of the 2020/21 season.
David Moyes absolutely loves the attacking midfielder and recently described him as an ‘incredible’ player (Claret and Hugh). Mark Noble was impressed too, and labelled Lingard as ‘phenomenal’ (Daily Mail).

And it seems as though Lingard could be back in the Claret and Blue very soon indeed…
West Ham close to Lingard signing
The Daily Mail reckon that Hammers boss David Moyes is closing in on a deal to bring Jesse back to the London Stadium on a free transfer this summer.
We believe that bringing the England International back is a no-brainer for the Hammers. Please let’s get a deal done for him quickly and efficiently though!
The 29-year-old earned around £130k-a-week at Manchester United (The Daily Star). That’s an awful lot of money and Jesse will undoubtedly be demanding a similar wage for what will be the final big contract of his career. There have even been claims that he will be ask for a salary worth up to £180k-a-week.

Whilst we don’t expect the Hammers to pay Jesse anywhere near that amount, he proved during his loan spell with us just how effective he can be for us in our counter-attacking setup. So it will be worth offering him a very decent package indeed.
The 32-capped England international is still one of the very best players around on his day. There question will be whether he has the hunger to prove himself anymore.
In my view, a David Moyes team with Jesse Lingard involved next season will be a much stronger one.
It seems as though that could very well happen with reports claiming that West Ham are close to Lingard.
