Newcastle are reportedly keen to bring the 20-year-old giant centre-back to St James’ Park as well.

That’s all according to French media outlet Foot Mercato who claim that the two Premier League sides are set to battle it out for the talented young Monaco starlet.

Badiashile is a sensational young defender.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, he is dominant in the air but is a proper footballer as well. The 20-year-old is a huge talent and the next stage of his career will definitely be the jump up from Ligue 1 to the Premier League. And it seems as though the Monaco ace could be swapping France for England very soon indeed…

West Ham eyeing bold January swoop for Benoît Badiashile

Foot Mercato reckon that the Hammers are very interested in signing the towering young centre-back.

In fact, it is claimed that West Ham have contacted the entourage of the player as well as Monaco in order to find out how much they will have to pay as a total package to bring Badiashile to East London.

We think that the Monaco ace would be an absolutely sensational signing for the Hammers.

He has been described as a brilliant young talent by well-renowned Total Football Analysis.

In 11 Ligue 1 outings for Monaco this season, the young Frenchman has averaged 1.7 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 2.4 clearances and 1.5 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

The 20-year-old comes into his own when it comes to technique, composure and ability with the ball at his feet. He has made 61.9 passes on average per match this season and has recorded a completion rate of 88.3% (Who Scored).

He is renowned for making line breaking, progressive passes through the centre of the opposition’s midfield and its absolutely brilliant at beating the press.

The young Frenchman has impressive pace for a big man too.

Badiashile could be available for around €40 million (£33 million) according to a report from L’Equipe.

West Ham boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his centre-back ranks at the London Stadium before the January transfer window slams shut.

Badiashile would be the kind of signing that would make the rest of the Premier League stand up and notice. It would be a real statement move.

The Monaco ace is one of the most exciting young talents on the planet. He is a brilliant young defender who has everything needed to succeed at the very highest level and crucially…he’s left-footed.
