It’s wahey for West Ham over Elye Wahi as £34m asking price is met for the striker who has made it clear he wants Hammers move.
With Gianluca Scamacca gone and Michail Antonio possibly on the way out too, there’s no doubt West Ham need to sign a striker before the summer transfer window closes.
One of the names heavily linked with the Hammers of late is Montpellier’s 20-year-old French forward Elye Wahi.
But RMC Sport claimed West Ham tabled a £30m bid for Wahi. And he went against the grain by reportedly turning down Chelsea and stating he only wants West Ham.

Like most transfers involving West Ham, though, the deal has dragged on and Chelsea – as reported by the likes of Get French Football News, remain very much interested.
We reported here on Hammers News earlier today that Montpellier had dropped a major hint Wahi is on his way out after leaving him out of their big game against Lyon.
Now there is some exciting breaking news from France on Friday night.
It’s wahey for West Ham over Wahi as £34m asking price is met for the striker who has made it clear he wants Hammers move.

L’Equipe and Get French Football News are reporting as breaking news this evening that West Ham have submitted a €35m + €5m (£30m total) in bonuses offer to Montpellier for Elye Wahi, which meets the asking price.
Earlier today we reported on claims being made across The Channel that West Ham’s focus on trying to sign Jeremy Doku could well cost them the chance to bring Wahi to the London Stadium.
But that – and serious interest from Lens – seems to have sparked the Hammers into life this evening.
In terms of football ability Wahi looks to have exactly what West Ham have been missing.
Possessing pace, skill and dynamism in abundance he has also been coveted by Eintracht Frankfurt.
