Very bad news for West Ham as Tottenham realistically could sign 26-yo in the summer window

West Ham United could be dealt a big blow by Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window it seems.

Both West Ham and Tottenham are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window, with central defensive reinforcements required by both David Moyes and Ange Postecoglou.

The Hammers boss will be really concerned about the fitness of Kurt Zouma, whilst Angelo Ogbonna is nearing the end of his career.

Meanwhile, the jury is still very much out on Nayef Aguerd and Konstantinos Mavropanos at the London Stadium.

Moyes is believed to be after Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, and was most recently linked with a move to sign him just before the January transfer window opened.

However, the Scot won’t have things all his own way in the chase for the former Manchester City defender…

West Ham could lose out to Tottenham in the summer transfer window

Calcio Mercato reckon that Tottenham and AC Milan will challenge West Ham for the 26-year-old centre-back’s signature in the summer.

Losing out on Adarabioyo would be a big blow for the Hammers – he’s exactly what we need at the London Stadium right now.

Back in 2016, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola absolutely raved about the then 19-year-old centre-back, and suggested he fully expected him to play for his team, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“One or two months ago, when we finished the season, I was sent a lot of highlights about the academy players; about Tosin, Brandon Barker, Bersant Celina, Manu Garcia and Aleix Garcia. We had an idea about them and trained with them all pre-season. Tosin has a lot of steps to get him better. It’s not done, but he has all the quality. He is fast, strong in the air, and has the quality to look forward behind the line for the next pass. He definitely has a future in the first team.”

Those comments from Pep prove just how talented the 26-year-old was as a young player, and he still possesses outstanding ability in my opinion.

Standing at 6ft 5in tall, Tosin Adarabioyo is an absolute giant, and he’d be yet another big threat for us from set-pieces.

In appearances for Fulham this season, the former Man City man has averaged 0.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 4.3 clearances and 3.5 successful aerial duels per game. He has made 58.4 passes per match on average and has recorded an impressive completion rate of 84.4% (Who Scored).

He is as aerially dominant as they come, and pretty good with the ball at his feet as well. I’d absolutely love him to join West Ham in the summer transfer window.

However, with Tottenham sniffing around the Fulham star, we will definitely have our work cut out.
