Trevor Sinclair suggested that joining West Ham would be a good move for Manchester City ace Oleksandr Zinchenko in January, when speaking on talkSPORT yesterday (Wednesday December 23rd, 12:45pm).

ExWHUemployee recently claimed that the Hammers are targeting a January swoop for the 24-year-old Man City ace in response to Arthur Masuaku’s knee surgery.

The addition of a new left wing-back next month seems like an absolute necessity for West Ham.

We don’t look anywhere near as comfortable since reverting to a back four with Masuaku out.

Manchester City ace Oleksandr Zinchenko would surely be a brilliant signing for the Hammers and he would strengthen David Moyes’s options considerably.

The Ukraine international is a real talent. He has been described by Pep Guardiola as ‘absolutely brilliant’.

Zinchenko a potential coup for the Hammers

He hasn’t played much football for City this season, however, with just five appearances to his name in all competitions.

“I think joining West Ham is a good move because Zinchenko wants to be the main man. He’s not getting the opportunity to play enough games. I actually think he’s undervalued at Man City. He has got better qualities than he’s given credit for. Certainly, with the style and formation West Ham play with (Arthur) Masuaku on the left, it would be good competition.”

Quite how much West Ham would have to pay for Zinchenko, however, is unclear.

The Hammers have limited funds at their disposal, so perhaps David Moyes will have to sell first before bringing anyone to the London Stadium.

Whatever happens, we should be going all out for the 24-year-old ace in January. Let’s just hope that the owners are prepared to back Moysie!
