Tottenham eyeing Jonathan David swoop is a crushing blow for West Ham

West Ham United could miss out on Jonathan David as Tottenham eye up a summer swoop for the Lille forward.

That’s according to a report from The Sun who claim that Tottenham could make a move to bring the talented youngster to the Premier League this summer.

Hammers manager David Moyes is keen to bring David, 22, to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window according to the likes of Jeunes Footeux and BUT! in France.

Signing a striker will be of paramount importance for West Ham this summer but the same could be said for Tottenham.

And it seems as though the Hammers and Tottenham could be battling it out for the same player this summer…

Tottenham eye swoop for Jonathan David

The Sun reckon that Spurs are interested in the Canadian hitman.

Whether we are able to beat our London rivals to the signing of David remains to be seen. But one thing’s for sure, missing out on him to Tottenham would be disastrous.

What an unbelievable signing he would be for whichever club wins the race for his signature.

David is a sensational young talent.

He possesses electric pace and is a real live-wire. The Lille ace is a good finisher as well. He has already scored 20 goals in 30 games for his country Canada and has bagged 19 goals in 48 games for Lille so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The Canadian would be an incredible addition for West Ham. His pace, finishing and movement would add so much to Moyes’s attacking ranks.

So missing out on David to Tottenham would be a bitter pill to swallow.

The 22-year-old is valued at around £45 million according to a report from Jeunes Footeux. That sounds like an awful lot of money for someone who is so young and as yet, unproven in the Premier League.

His talent and potential is undeniable though.

And if Tottenham do make a summer swoop to sign Jonathan David, West Ham may well have to look elsewhere, with Champions League football on offer in north London.
