Craig Dawson turned 32 yesterday and Kurt Zouma has proven somewhat injury prone since his £29m arrival from Chelsea.

‘There was contact’ says France Under 21 star Badiashile who admits his dream is to play in the Premier League after West Ham interest.

In an interview with Goal – as also reported by GFFN – Badiashile has revealed the extent of the interest from West Ham and fellow Premier League side Newcastle.

“I had some contacts with English clubs, but they were just informal contacts,” Badiashile told Goal, as also reported by GFFN.

“For me, the Premier League is the best league, so naturally I dream about it. But I’m very good at Monaco and I’m not rushing to leave.

“We all know the competitiveness of the Premier League, it’s a fantastic league that is very interesting . . . I had some contact in the past with some clubs, but right now I’m fully focused on the end of the season and on Monaco, where I feel good.”

The rangy, powerful centre-back says he models himself on the likes of Thiago Silva and Virgil van Dijk among others.

If West Ham get him and he is half the player of those two then they will be onto a winner.
