West Ham have made a formal offer to the agents of Jesse Lingard about a move to the London Stadium this summer.
That’s according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth who claims that the Hammers are ‘hopeful’ of getting a deal done for the 29-year-old attacking midfielder.

Lingard spent four months on loan at the London Stadium in the 2020/21 season and was a huge hit.

David Moyes is clearly a huge fan of Lingard and recently described him as an ‘incredible’ player (Claret and Hugh). Mark Noble was impressed too, and labelled Lingard as ‘phenomenal’ (Daily Mail).
And Lingard could be back playing in Claret and Blue again very soon…
Jesse Lingard offer made
The 29-year-old attacking midfielder could be heading back to the London Stadium before the start of the new season.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed live on air that an official offer has been made to LLingard’s team of representatives by West Ham:

“West Ham are very interested in taking him (Lingard) to the London Stadium on a permanent basis. We’re told today that West Ham have made an offer to Jesse Lingard’s representatives and they are thought to be hopeful, that’s the word that’s been given to me, hopeful of getting it done.”
That sounds pretty good.
The key here though will be getting a deal done quickly and efficiently. There is no value in letting this one rumble on until late on in the transfer window.
The 29-year-old earned around £130k-a-week at Manchester United (The Daily Star). That’s an awful lot of money and Jesse will undoubtedly be demanding a similar wage for what will be the final big contract of his career. There have even been claims that he will be ask for a salary worth up to £180k-a-week.
Whilst we don’t expect the Hammers to pay Jesse anywhere near that amount, he proved during his loan spell with us just how effective he can be for us in our counter-attacking setup. So it will be worth offering him a very decent package indeed.
And hopefully the offer made to Jesse Lingard is one that he deems acceptable.
