'The truth is' David Moyes delivers new West Ham transfer update as crucial summer window looms large

Hammers boss David Moyes has delivered a new West Ham transfer update as a crucial summer window looms large.

Moyes is facing a major rebuild at West Ham this summer with a host of players leaving or not in his plans.

West Ham will require at least six quality signings if not more when the summer transfer window opens on June 10th.

Hammers fans are expectant after being left hugely disappointed by the club’s failure to strengthen Moyes’s shallow squad in the January window.

Particularly after the arrival of Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky as the club’s second biggest stakeholder behind David Sullivan.

The lack of additions has been cited by many supporters and pundits as the reason why West Ham’s bid for Champions League football fell short in both the Premier League and via their memorable journey in the Europa League.

While West Ham have done remarkably well under Moyes, the Scot has stated in several interviews that he will need to be backed in the transfer market if the Irons are to continue to compete for the top six.

With European football also assured, West Ham’s squad will once again be fully tested next term.

According to West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh, Moyes will be given a transfer budget of around £150m this summer.

And he will need every penny to bring in the kind of quality needed to keep West Ham on an upward curve.

The Scot has been speaking to the press about his summer plans in his pre-match conference ahead of the season finale at Brighton.

And Moyes has delivered a new West Ham transfer update as a crucial window looms large.

“We can add to it and maybe get a bit more competition in some areas than we’ve had at the moment…” Moyes told the press (whufc.com).

“The truth is, I’ve probably been looking forward six months to a year. How can I grow it a little bit better and stronger.

“I’ve been at it all the time and I’ve never stopped thinking about the future and growing the club.

“I want things better round the training ground and the stadium. There are lots of things I want to build, but with regards to players, we hope we’ll be able to add to what we’ve got next season.”

As Moyes plans his transfers, the staggering combined net worth of West Ham’s owners has been revealed in the new Sunday Times Rich List.

Moyes also gave a West Ham injury update in his pre-Brighton presser.
