West Ham are confident of securing a double deal for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana and free agent Jesse Lingard this week.
That’s according to a report from The Evening Standard who claim that the Hammers have lodged a £30 million bid for Onana and are moving closer to securing a deal to sign Lingard on a free transfer.

And we are apparently awaiting a response from Lille regarding the bid that we have made for the Belgium international.
And it seems as though West Ham are closing in on what would be an unbelievably good double deal…

West Ham confident of securing double deal
The Hammers are very positive about signing both Onana and Lingard for a combined fee of £30 million before the end of the week according to a report from The Evening Standard.
We have to say, it feels like West Ham are finally operating as a club with genuine ambition. And it’s great to see.
Onana would be an incredible signing for the East London outfit.
He seems to have absolutely everything needed to succeed in the English game what with its intense nature and ferocious speed and tempo.
The 6ft 5in central midfielder is an absolute giant.
He’s powerful, energetic and has everything that Moyes will be looking for in the middle of the park.
The Belgium international is equally as strong with both feet, and that’s somewhat of a rarity in the modern game.
In 32 Ligue 1 outings for Lille last season, Onana averaged 1.5 tackles and one interception per game. He made 20 passes on average per match and recorded a completion rate of 84% (Who Scored).
The 20-year-old is an absolute powerhouse of a player and would be an unreal addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
Onana is a really special talent. He has been described by Sport Magazine as a ‘sensational’ young player. Meanwhile, he’s been labelled as an ‘incredible’ player by Total Football Analysis.
West Ham double deal for Onana and Lingard would be very exciting
We all know what Jesse Lingard will add to Moyes’s setup at the London Stadium.

The 29-year-old bagged nine goals and four assists in 16 Premier League games for West Ham during a four month loan spell in the 2020/21 season.
David Moyes absolutely loves the attacking midfielder and recently described him as an ‘incredible’ player (Claret and Hugh). Mark Noble was impressed too, and labelled Lingard as ‘phenomenal’ (Daily Mail).
We believe that bringing the England International back is a no-brainer for the Hammers. Please let’s get a deal done for him quickly and efficiently though!
Onana – a defensive, box-to-box midfielder and Lingard – an attacking midfielder would both be superb additions for the Hammers.
And if West Ham secure a double deal for the Belgian and English aces before the end of the week, as well as Armando Broja, we will be in great shape ahead of the 2022/23 season.
