In fact, it is suggested that signing the Dutch defender is one of Moyes’s main priorities ahead of the summer transfer window.
Central defence is certainly an area at the London Stadium where David Moyes needs to strengthen in the summer.
West Ham won’t be able to do much better than Sven Botman.

It seems as though Moyes may well have to look elsewhere though…
Fabrizio Romano provides Sven Botman transfer update
The highly respected Italian football journalist has dropped some news regarding the 22-year-old’s future today…
Fabrizio Romano shared a transfer update on Botman that will interest the West Ham fans via his official Twitter account:
That’s a huge shame because we think that Botman would have been a truly sensational addition for West Ham United.
The Lille ace will cost around £43 million if the Hammers are to bring him to the London Stadium according to a report from L’Equipe (print edition, August 1st, page 37).
Botman would be worth that kind of fee, however. He really is a truly top-class central defender. He was recently described as an ‘incredible’ centre-back by The Athletic.
In 21 Ligue 1 outings for Lille this season, the Holland under-21 international has averaged one tackle, one interception and 4.5 clearances per game. He also won an average of 2.1 aerial duels per match during those appearances (Who Scored).

The Lille ace is very good with the ball at his feet. In 21 league outings this season, he has made 60.7 passes on average and has recorded a mightily impressive 88.2% completion rate (Who Scored).
Botman stands at 6ft 5in tall and cuts a really imposing figure. And crucially, he is also left-footed.
£43 million may sound like a lot of money for someone who is unproven in the Premier League. However, Botman is the real deal and would be worth every penny.
It seems as though West Ham are set to miss out on Botman this summer, however.
The Hammers’ loss will very much be AC Milan’s gain.
