Star Gianluca Scamacca has sent a message to Declan Rice as rumours fly that he’ll be the next out of the West Ham exit door.

Declan Rice’s departure has now been confirmed as he follows Manuel Lanzini out of West Ham and speculation is rife Gianluca Scamacca could follow them.

The Italian has literally been linked with a third of the clubs in Serie A.

Scamacca divides opinion at West Ham.

But most Hammers fans have seen enough of his finishing power and prowess to want him to stay and make the move work next season.

As a result of the rumours, West Ham fans who give any credence to the old saying goes ‘there’s no smoke without fire’ believe Scamacca might leave.

Juventus were once again linked with the 6ft 5in Hammers forward this week.

And a West Ham insider has claimed the striker is set for high level talks with the club over his future following new links with Roma.

Rice finally completed his £105m move to Arsenal on Saturday.

Now star Scamacca has sent a message to Rice as rumours fly that he’ll be next out of the West Ham exit door.

“Legend on and off the pitch,” Scamacca said under West Ham’s confirmation of Rice’s departure on Twitter.

“Good Luck Capitano,” he added alongside a heart emoji.

There looked to have been a big boost for those wanting to see Scamacca stay at West Ham earlier this week.

West Ham announced that Scamacca was changing his shirt number from seven to the 11 vacated by Lucas Paqueta’s switch to number 10.

Some believe Scamacca changing his number suggests he will be sticking around. And that does tally with Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg reporting last week that West Ham want to keep the striker and believe he will come good in his second season.

Speculation over Scamacca’s future refuses to go away, though, despite the shirt number change.

Claret and Hugh claim they have been told by a ‘source close to the player that he is indeed keen to move on’.
