West Ham beat Champions League club Atalanta to Kral claims Spartak chief

West Ham boss David Moyes has been tracking Kral for some time.

And the Hammers beat off competition from Champions League club Atalanta to land the Czech Republic international.

That’s according to Spartak Moscow president Evgeny Melezhikov.

The Russian club’s chief was the first to break the news of Kral’s deadline day move to West Ham. And he admitted there were ‘many different options’.

Hammers beating side who have finished third in Serie A for three consecutive seasons is a big coup

But he later revealed West Ham beat pre-season opponents Atalanta – who are in Manchester United’s Champions League group – to the signing of Kral, as quoted by the likes of Fabrizio Romano.

“Spartak chief Evgeny Melezhikov confirms: “Kral is leaving. We had different options for him (Atalanta). We’ve agreed on all terms with West Ham.”

The fact West Ham beat a side who have finished third in Serie A for three consecutive seasons is a big coup.

And while Kral may not have shone at the Euros as Moyes had tipped him to, he was outstanding for Spartak last season.

Moyes confident Alex kid will shine in Prem

But Moyes is confident Kral will prove himself at West Ham during a jam-packed season.

“I am delighted to welcome Alex to West Ham United,” Moyes told whufc.com.

“He will provide good competition in the centre of midfield. He is another young, talented player who we feel has a big potential and will be capable of adapting to the demands of the Premier League.

“We’ve brought him in on loan initially and, hopefully, over the course of the season he will make a valuable contribution, particularly with our busier schedule of fixtures.”

In other news, ‘Didn’t realise I had so many agents’ ‘Potato salad everyday’ Kral and Masuaku react to arrival.

And Moyes explains Kral signing and has every intention of making it permanent.
