Shock Romelu Lukaku claims emerge as West Ham desperately hunt for a new centre-forward

Caught Offside claims that the Hammers have made a shock enquiry to sign the 30-year-old Chelsea hitman this summer.

Lukaku has found himself in somewhat of a dilemma, after Juventus pulled out of the race to sign him and with Mauricio Pochettino happy to let him leave Stamford Bridge.

And West Ham could swoop in for him apparently. Now, signing him would be totally worth it purely for the fact that he wouldn’t be able to score against us!

The 30-year-old has an unbelievable record against the Hammers. He has scored more goals against us than any other club in his career to date, with 11 to his name in just 17 games, and he’s bagged four assists during those outings as well (Transfermarkt).

Romelu Lukaku is an absolute powerhouse of a striker. They don’t come much stronger than him, and despite the criticism that he has received in recent years, I think he’d be a superb signing for us.

The Belgian is a proven goalscorer at the end of the day, and his battering ram playing style would suit David Moyes’s system at the London Stadium perfectly.
