West Ham United have been handed a very big boost regarding our hopes to sign Cole Palmer from Manchester City this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are open to letting Cole Palmer join West Ham in the summer transfer window.

It was actually claimed recently that Man City were more open to letting the young winger leave the Etihad permanently rather than on loan.

Palmer would be a simply sensational addition to the ranks of Hammers boss David Moyes this summer.

Pep Guardiola recently described the young Englishman as a ‘special talent’ (Daily Mail). So could we realistically sign him this summer?

Fabrizio Romano makes huge Cole Palmer claim and it’s great news for West Ham

It seems as though West Ham signing the Man City star could really happen this summer.

Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport:

“Manchester City are open to letting Cole Palmer go to West Ham. But, as always for their talents, they want a buyback clause and a sell-on clause, so it’s not that easy to structure the deal. I think it will be decided this week.”

Now, whilst the thought of a buy-back clause might worry the West Ham fans, it really would be a win-win situation for us, if we signed Palmer.

Man City only sign elite players, so for them to activate that buy-back clause, Palmer would have to absolutely light it up for the Hammers.

The 21-year-old would have to evolve into a world-class player over the next year or so, and if he does that it will mean that we would have had the absolute best of him.

Hopefully the buy-back clause will be a fairly large fee as well. The main point here is that we can’t lose. If West Ham sign Cole Palmer with a buy-back clause included, then I’ll still be delighted regardless.
