West Ham United have been heavily linked with a move for former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
In fact West Ham have been in pole position to sign the Juventus man this summer according to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
There are doubts that West Ham are going to be able to seal a permanent deal for Jesse Lingard.
And that leaves a gaping hole in David Moyes’s armoury going into a jam-packed season with Europa League football.

West Ham in ‘pole position’ to land Ramsey as clear Lingard alternative
Ramsey appears to be one of the Lingard alternatives West Ham are seriously considering given how similar the two players are.
And reports in Italy have claimed he and his agent have been trying to negotiate a termination of his contract, which would make him available on a free transfer.
But Moyes’s week from hell in the transfer window looks set to get worse.
That’s after a new report emerged from Sky Sports claimed Ramsey wants to stay at Juve – where he is earning a huge salary – after they brought back Max Allegri as manager, the man who wanted to sign him in the first place back in 2019.

Another blow for Moyes as report claims Welshman wants to stay after Allegri’s return to Juve
In fact the West Ham target signed a pre-contract agreement with Allegri in the February of that year. But the Italian had left the club before the Welshman could play a single game under him.
“With Allegri back at the helm – and now Wales are out of the Euros – Ramsey will prepare to report for pre-season training fully with the intention of staking a claim in his team,” Sky Sports claims.
“Although there is interest from Premier League clubs that could yet attract Juve discussing a sale, Ramsey also still has two years left on his contract.”
It is another blow for West Ham’s reported plans.

Hammers priorities remain clear as rival clubs start grinding into gear in the transfer window
Moyes has four priorities this summer.
Signing Lingard permanently is one of those as is signing a striker.
West Ham also need defensive midfield backup and a new centre-back.
But while clubs such as Aston Villa, Norwich, Leicester, Manchester City and Manchester United start to get seriously active in the transfer market, West Ham are once again taking their time.
There are two months left of the window, though, so the Hammers have plenty of time to get deals done.
