A football reporter well known to West Ham United fans has delivered a hugely encouraging update on the club’s hopes of landing Jesse Lingard.
Signing Lingard from Manchester United on a permanent basis is one of David Moyes’s top priorities at West Ham this summer.
The midfield ace starred during a 16-game loan spell at West Ham and played a big part in the club securing their best ever Premier League points total and Europa League group stage football for the first time.

Lingard saga takes its toll
But what seemed like it might be a straightforward transfer given how a deal would suit all parties involved, has turned into something of a saga.
There has been claim and counter claim over Lingard’s future all summer.
And the long, drawn out affair has become somewhat tiresome for West Ham fans.
Speculation over the last week claimed Manchester United are willing to sell Lingard but only for £30 million (Mirror Online).
With just one year left on his current contract that valuation seems rather steep.

Reporter who famously broke Haller news makes hugely encouraging Lingard claim
West Ham insider ExWHUemployee also downplayed the club’s chances of signing the midfield ace.
But West Ham fans have been given real hope after Italian football reporter Nicolo Schira claimed the Hammers and Man United have finally opened discussions over a permanent deal.
Schira’s name will be familiar to Hammers supporters after he broke the news of Sebastien Haller’s record £45million move long before anyone else.
Schira did his reputation no harm at all when he called the Haller to West Ham deal dead right.

‘Talks ongoing’
And he gained thousands of Hammers fans as followers on Twitter as a result.
West Ham fans will now be hoping his latest claim is on the money too after he gave a hugely encouraging update on Twitter.
“West Ham are pushing for Jesse Lingard’s return from Manchester United on a permanent deal,” Schira said on Twitter.
“Talks ongoing.”
There has been a potentially major blow for West Ham as Arsenal enter race for prime target.
And is this why West Ham’s new ‘Argentina’ away kit has a big white block which is annoying fans?
