West Ham United boss David Moyes has a longstanding interest in Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.
West Ham’s hopes of signing the French forward looked doomed just over a week ago when reports emerged that his former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was close to bringing him to Leicester.

West Ham hopes of signing Moyes target looked doomed but Leicester signing Daka has changed everything
But Football Insider then claimed that Leicester’s imminent signing of another Hammers target, Patson Daka, has opened the door again for Moyes to bring Edouard in from Celtic.
Celtic finally ended their long search for a new manager when Ange Postecoglou was appointed recently.
And one of his first orders of business was expected to be addressing the situation surrounding West Ham target Edouard.
So West Ham fans will be interested in an update from Sky Sports reporter Mark Benstead, the first person to put questions to the new Celtic boss since his arrival at Parkhead.

“Following a difficult season I’m sure Celtic supporters will find what he said quite encouraging and reassuring,” Benstead reported on Sky Sports.
“The only thing that would concern me is that he has got a lot to do in such a short space of time.
“He was asked about the future of Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer and said he is yet to speak to them both.
“If I was a fan I would like to have seen that dealt with already.
“The last thing Celtic need is uncertainty with the Champions League qualifiers less than a month away.”

Lack of urgency from new Hoops manager suggests club are resigned to striker leaving
The fact Postecoglou has not sought to immediately deal with the Edouard situation could be great news for West Ham.
The 23-year-old has reportedly told the club he has no intention of signing a new deal.
So Celtic know they must cash in this summer as a result. Postecoglou has talked a lot about giving players who want to be at Celtic the chance to prove themselves to him. He has also made it clear the clock is ticking before their Champions League qualifying campaign gets underway.
So perhaps the Australian is clear in his priorities and sees no point wasting time trying to change Edouard’s mind.
Earlier this month reports claimed Edouard could be available for just £18m given his contract situation. That is well within West Ham’s budget.
And former West Ham hero John Hartson said on Twitter that someone will be getting an absolute bargain at that price while he can’t help but feel Celtic are being hard done by.
