West Ham United have ‘already laid the groundwork’ to sign a striker recommended to David Moyes by old friend Alan Brazil.

Insider claims there is ‘total resignation’ at Prem rivals over player’s move to West Ham

Hammers boss Moyes is close with talkSPORT pundit Brazil and both are big Celtic men.

Now it has emerged Moyes looks set to raid his old club to sign their star striker Odsonne Edouard.

Hammers have already laid groundwork in move for heavily linked Celtic striker

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Edouard since January.

And a new report from Football Insider claims West Ham are in ‘pole position’ to sign the 23-year-old former PSG forward.

The exclusive report says Celtic are facing a losing battle to keep Edouard our of West Ham’s clutches.

“A West Ham source has told Football Insider the club are laying the groundwork of a deal for Edouard and are hopeful they will win the race for him,” Football Insider reports.

“The Londoners have made progress behind the scenes in recent days as they look to get a deal in place before the window opens…

“Celtic face a losing battle to keep the striker, who enters the final year of his contract in the summer.”

It comes after Edouard was recommended to Moyes by Brazil, who hinted on talkSPORT at the end of February that the move ‘was a possibility’.

“When you talk about another centre forward (for West Ham in the summer), we touched on this (before), Edouard from Celtic,” Brazil said on talkSPORT.

French striker was recommended to Moyes by old pal and fellow Bhoy Brazil

“Davey (Moyes) will know all about him. That’s a possible for West Ham.

“Listen he holds it up, he’s got all the ability, he’s got pace. He scores goals, he’s cool on the ball. That could be a possibility.”

West Ham may also be able to tempt Edouard with the offer of Champions League football.

The Hammers are sitting fourth in the table with seven games to go.

And Moyes will take West Ham up to third this Saturday if they beat Newcastle United.
