A report claims West Ham want two players from the same club on deadline day but it all seems like pie in the sky.

David Moyes has confirmed that West Ham will be active in the summer transfer window right up to tonight’s 11pm deadline.

Our top source inside West Ham told us overnight that the chances of new arrivals on deadline day were “fifty-fifty”.

Technical director Tim Steidten is back in the UK to work on any deals following a rare fruitless trip abroad.

West Ham have been linked with the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Filip Kostic and Ian Maatsen.

It could be one of three in and two out on deadline day judging by the latest reports overnight and this today.

Speculation surrounding Serbian assist king Kostic – who snubbed the Hammers for Juventus last summer – have been gathering pace after he was offered to the club again by his agent.

Now a report claims West Ham want two players from the same club on deadline day but it all seems like pie in the sky.

Juve FC claims West Ham want Kostic and his teammate Samuel Iling-Junior on deadline day.

Back in July Hammers News reported claims of West Ham interest – driven by Steidten – in former Chelsea academy youngster Iling-Junior.

The 6ft winger, who is still only 19, was once named in the world’s top 60 young talents.

“Reportedly, West Ham is exploring the possibility of acquiring Filip Kostic and Samuel Iling-Junior on transfer deadline day,” Juve FC reports.

“The Hammers are in urgent need of a winger and have only a limited amount of time left to bolster their squad, with a shortlist of potential candidates at their disposal.”

This all feels very much like pie in the sky speculation.

Kostic’s agent has used West Ham to drum up interest in his client in the past.

And the Italian transfer window closes at 7pm – giving West Ham even less time to get a double deal and that would entail, done in time.

It would, on paper, be a fantastic move which would bring a mix of experienced, proven quality and prodigal future potential to the club.

But in our opinion this just deadline day gossip with very little foundation or basis in reality.
