West Ham United have made a ‘serious’ proposal to free agent Graziano Pelle, according to a report from FC Inter News.

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bring a centre-forward to the London Stadium this month.

Josh King is the name that has mostly been doing the rounds with talkSPORT reporting that the Bournemouth striker is desperate to move to the London Stadium.

Another name was brought to out attention recently, however – free agent Graziano Pelle.

Tutto Mercato Web claimed a few days ago that West Ham want to sign the Italian target man on a free transfer.

West Ham moving in for Graziano Pelle?

And now FC Inter News suggest that the Hammers have made a ‘serious proposal’ to the 35-year-old hitman.

Graziano Pelle has enjoyed a decent career in the game with 187 goals in 488 games to his name (Transfermarkt).

Since moving to China, the former Southampton man has scored 63 goals in 132 games (Transfermarkt).

Let’s have it right though. Pelle is 35 now and well past his best. He hasn’t played in the Premier League for four-and-a-half years and would surely struggle to adapt to the pace, intensity and robust nature of England’s top flight.

This really is one that we should avoid.

It would surprise nobody if the West Ham owners decided to bring the ageing striker to the London Stadium, however.
