West Ham United transfer target Roberto Firmino could actually leave Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer window.
That’s according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition January 27th, page 4) who claim that the Hammers could face competition from the likes of Inter Milan for the 31-year-old Liverpool attacker’s signature.

The 55-capped Brazil international is out of contract with Liverpool at the end of the season.

It seems as though Jurgen Klopp may well be prepared to let his contract run down though, before moving him on from Anfield for nothing in the summer…
Firmino could leave Liverpool on a free transfer
Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that the Brazilian could leave Anfield for nothing in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian is a mercurial talent who would undoubtedly make a big difference to West Ham’s attacking play.
I must say though, the last thing that Moyes should be doing is bringing an ageing mercenary on the downward curve of his career to the London Stadium this month.
Moyes has always insisted that he wants to bring young, hungry and exciting footballers to the London Stadium. The Liverpool ace only fits into one of those three criteria.

It must be said that the 31-year-old’s ability to link play between midfield and attack is exactly what West Ham are missing though. He would be perfect for the Hammers in the number 10 role.
Whether he’s ageing and regressing is one thing but it’s clear to me that he would do a job for West Ham for the next couple of years.
So could West Ham spring a massive shock and sign Firmino from Liverpool?
I just can’t see it happening.
