West Ham United are really interested in signing Torino defender Gleison Bremer in the January transfer window.
According to a report from Torino Granata, the Hammers are one of four clubs who have ‘really flirted’ with the Brazilian centre-back.
West Ham boss David Moyes currently has a central defensive injury crisis on his hands at the London Stadium.
Bringing in a top-class centre-back in the January transfer window will be absolutely paramount to our hopes of enjoying a successful season.
The Hammers are currently fighting for honours on four fronts! As things stand though, our season is in danger of fizzling out with Moyes’s threadbare squad depleted.
It seems as though Moyes is looking to address one of his squad’s current biggest weaknesses, however.
West Ham ramp up interest in Gleison Bremer ahead of January window
Torino Granata claims that there are four clubs who have been ‘seriously flirting’ with the 24-year-old centre-back – West Ham, Napoli, AC Milan and Everton.
So we will far from have things all our own way in the race for the South American defender’s signature.
One thing’s for sure though, the Hammers should be going all out to bring Bremer to the London Stadium.
The Brazilian is valued at around €30 million (£25 million) according to Torino Granata.
That sounds like fantastic value for the Hammers.
In 15 Serie A outings for Torino this season, the 24-year-old has averaged two tackles, 3.7 interceptions and 4.2 clearances. He has also won an average of 4.1 aerial duals per game (Who Scored).
Standing at 6ft 2in tall and with a great leap, Bremer is very strong in the air. He is also quick along the ground and is a tenacious tackler.
Bremer would be a fantastic signing for West Ham.
Let’s hope that the owners manage to push this one through for David Moyes in January. It could end up being the signing that makes the difference between success and failure for the Hammers this season.
