West Ham United recently made an enquiry about Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha according to a report from Calcio Mercato.

In other news…Ex claims West Ham are ‘especially’ keen to sign 16-goal Englishman

Hammers boss David Moyes we be absolutely desperate to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut.

In truth, however, the last thing we need at the moment is another goalkeeper.

Having sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax, the addition of at least one established centre-forward before the end of the month is an absolute must.

And whilst we may well be on the look-out for a new striker, Calcio Mercato reckon that we have submitted an enquiry for Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.

The 25-year-old Albania international has played 173 games for Lazio and let in 208 goals, keeping 49 clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).

West Ham surely don’t need Thomas Strakosha at the moment

The Hammers should definitely be looking at signing a new goalkeeper in the summer.

Lukasz Fabianski and Darren Randolph will be 36 and 34 respectively before the start of next season and the former is currently out injured.

The Hammers do have youngsters Nathan Trott, Joseph Anang and Krisztian Hegyi all coming through the ranks. None of them are ready to be playing regular Premier League football, however.

So it would make sense if West Ham signed Lazio stopper Strakosha in the summer or even next year.

At the moment, however, David Moyes’s absolute priority must be to sign a talented striker. The Scot could really do with bringing a central midfielder and a left wing-back to the London Stadium as well.

Hopefully the West Ham board are ready to back Moyes with the funds for those specific signings.

Let’s hope that we are not foolish enough to sign Lazio stopper Thomas Strakosha this month, however.

There would be nothing wring with us signing the Albian in the future. Not now though. We have far more pressing matters at hand.
