ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham are ‘especially keen’ on Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong.

In other news…‘This would be insane’: Some West Ham fans erupt at 24-year-old striker rumour

The Hammers insider suggested that the Championship outfit may reluctantly cash in on the 23-year-old with his contract set to expire next summer.

ExWHUemployee first claimed that West Ham were interested in the former Newcastle United striker back in November.

David Moyes’s need to add a new striker to his ranks has now become a matter of urgency.

Sebastien Haller left for Ajax on Friday. Bringing a new centre-forward to the London Stadium will be absolutely vital for the Hammers, if we are to keep up our fine start to the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

And Blackburn Rovers hitman Adam Armstrong could be just the man for the job.

The 23-year-old has been in superb form for Rovers this season. He has scored 16 goals in 22 Championship appearances (Transfermarkt).

West Ham to sign Adam Armstrong?

Armstrong would be absolutely ideal for David Moyes’s system.

The 23-year-old is diminutive, a tireless worker and has all of the qualities needed to compete with Michail Antonio for a starting role.

Perhaps the Hammers can pick the Blackburn ace up for a bargain fee this month. The Championship side certainly won’t want to risk losing him for nothing next summer.

Armstrong is exactly what we need. Let’s hope that David Sullivan makes this one happen!
