West Ham United have allegedly made a €20 million (£17 million) bid for Piotr Zielinski but Napoli won’t sell him for anything less than €40 million (£34 million).
That’s according to a report from Corriere dello Sport (print edition July 24th, page 13) who claim that The Hammers are very keen indeed to bring Zielinski to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Clearly not keen enough though!

Offering half of what a player is worth is such a typical David Sullivan move. It’s not even negotiating and is just a derogatory bid that will immediately make the selling club think that we are not serious.
That’s just my opinion. It must be said though, a £17 million offer for Zielinski was never going to get the job done was it.
With Napoli said to be demanding nearly double that amount, it remains to be see whether the Hammers manage to get a deal over the line for the attacking midfielder.

One thing’s for sure, Sullivan needs to go back in with a much larger bid…
West Ham make Piotr Zielinski bid
Corriere dello Sport (print edition July 24th, page 13) claim that the Hammers owners need to double their initial £17 million bid for Zielinski if they want to get a deal done.
We’ve all seen this one before haven’t we!! Let’s hope that the club’s next bid isn’t quite as insulting.
The 72-capped Poland international is undoubtedly a huge talent and has the kind of ability that would definitely take West Ham’s attacking play to another level.
The 28-year-old bagged eight goals and five assists in 42 games for Napoli last season and in the 2020/21 campaign, he racked up 10 goals and 13 assists in 47 games (Transfermarkt).
In 35 Serie A outings last season, Zielinski made 36.1 passes on average per game and recorded an impressive completion rate of 84.8%. He also made an average of 1.4 key passes per match (Who Scored).

talkSPORT recently described the attacking midfielder as ‘world-class’.
The Poland international is a very good footballer indeed. As long as he adjusts to the fast tempo and physical nature of premier League football, he would undoubtedly be a huge hit in England.
Zielinski would be a very good addition for West Ham this summer. But we don’t want David Moyes paying anything more than £30 million to bring him to the London Stadium.
He’s 28, and question marks must be asked about signing a midfielder with little to no sell-on value.
As mentioned earlier though, we think the Piotr Zielinski would be a hit at West Ham.
And a £30 million deal to sign the Pole would be good value in my book. However, if Napoli hold David Moyes to ransom, then he needs to move on quickly.
